You will be taken an a half day visit which is, once again, in Tom's old 'beat' area. He will help you to discover one of the most idyllic Lakeland valleys which so often missed by visitors to Southern Lakeland. The tour takes in the village of Coniston beneath the gaze of the towering Old Man of Coniston. You'll see Coniston Water where Donald Campbell made his ill-fated attempt at the World Water Speed Record in his power boat Bluebird. The tour calls at the quaint village of Broughton-in-Furness and moves to beautiful views of the sands of the Duddon Estuary. This is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and home to thousands of protected sea birds. You can trace the River Duddon back up the Duddon valley through Ulpha and Seathwaite, over the spectacular Wrynose Pass into the Little Langdale valley finally arriving at the beautiful Tarn Hows - a man-made idyll surrounded by wooded fells.
