This is probably the most spectacular of all routes through the Lake District. If you have the nerve for heights then the twisting roads over Wrynose and Hardnott Passes will reward you with some of the most dramatic views in England. All of this is in Tom's backyard - his specialist area after years of living and working as the local country bobby. You couldn't be in better hands. Stops on this full day tour will include: Muncaster Castle with its impressive gardens and owl sanctuary; Ravenglass, including the Roman Fort and a ride on the world famous La'al Ratty (the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature steam railway); Wasdale and Wast Water, the country's deepest lake with views of Sca Fell Pike and Great Gable; Hardknott Pass and the Roman Fort; Wrynose Pass and Great Langdale. This journey is a photographer's dream. There are opportunities for viewing stunning landscapes with its peaks and valleys, historic forts and castles, flora and fauna (in the beautiful gardens of Muncaster Castle) and the changing sands of the Ravenglass estuary.
